Article 29 establishes that
"The Republic recognizes the rights of the family like those of a natural society created by means of the marriage. The marriage stipulates the moral and legal equality between the spouses, with the limits established by this law to guarantee its unity."

Article 30 establishes that
"It is the duty and right of the parents to maintain, guide and educate their children, even if born extramaritally. In case of the parental inability to do so, the law shall interfere and withdraw the rights of such parents. The law ensures to extramaritally born children legal and social security, compatible with the rights of the legitimate family members. The law stipulates the norms and limits for the paternity search. "

Article 31 establishes that
"The Republic facilitates economic measures and aid for new families, especially with regards to the numerous families.
The Republic protects the maternity, infancy and youth, establishing the necessary institutes for this purpose."
